History

Organized in April of 1945 on a trial basis, the Saddle Club held their first meeting in the Foster School House. An Acting Chairman and Secretary presided over the meeting.

Several rodeos and horse pulling contests were held that first year. Having no club house of their own, the group held their meetings and activities at several locations throughout the county and in Churubusco. At that time, the Club was operating under the name "Kendallville Saddle Club".

In December of 1945 at a special meeting, the name of the club was changed to "Noble County Saddle Club". Officers and a Board of Directors were elected.

Anyone joining the club before December 31, 1946 was considered a "Charter Member". There were fifty-three individual Charter Members.

In 1946, twenty acres were purchased along SR 8 on the east side of Albion, Indiana. They held their first meeting in the newly built club house on their own property August 28, 1947. Sixty three years later, we are still holding shows and community events on the same grounds.
